Fabulous authentic Victorian period, handmade, floor
length black satin skirt with two inset ruched vertical panels that go down the skirt just in front of
your hips. Beautifully designed.
This is a fully lined, heavy skirt, beautifully
constructed of heavy weight coal black satin gaberdine (twilled on one side) material. I have lightened a few photos
to enhance the detail because it is so black.
There is some wear to the satin in one spot on the front
of the skirt, and several tiny areas near waitline, where the material has grown thin, but not through. About 1" square which could be covered, dyed or repaired by a professional.
The other issue is wear to the very bottom of the
hemline where the skirt has touched the floor. Otherwise this skirt is in amazing condition.
No pockets, side closeure with hook & eye.
The ruching is only across the front hemline and the two inset
vertical panels. The back hemline is plain to the floor, but does have two nice large pleats for ample sitting room.
It is Victorian, so not to expect perfection. But perfect for that authentic Victorian
costume you've been meaning to put together.
This is a very classy, well made skirt.
A quality Victorian skirt to wear
or display.
