ARMOR METAL MESH ENAMEL PURSES became fashionable in the "Roaring Twenties". I have divided metal mesh bags into two categories because I believe the enamel armor mesh bags deserve their own niche. Made with tiny square metal links that are enameled or painted, they have a uniqueness all their own. They are among my favorites.

Whiting & Davis and Mandalian Mfg. Co. are the major names in this category, although they were made by many companies and many countries. They remain popular with collectors & are even being repoduced today. However, in my mind, the vintage ones are by far the best.
