12KGF white gold reading magnifier spring nose (pince nez) spectacles with 18" sterling silver attach chain
in very nice antique condition.
The glasses have
two sets of nose pads for better grip on the nose.
A pretty design
across the top of the adjustable rims can be seen in photo below.
The early 20th Century saw pince nez spectables become extremely popular. They work with a spring mechanism which grips
and holds the now.
These spectacles come with an older case marked Earl Pratt, Optometrist, Reno, Nevada. I doubt this case is orignial
to the spectacles.
A nice historical piece and a nice item to put
with that antique dictionary in your parlour! Or, one could have their own lenses installed.
