Simple sophistication emanates from this mustard yellow enamel
LaMode vintage tango compact. The lid is centered with a silvertone silhoutte of a Victorian Lady in her bonnet. I have not
seen this compact design before.
Double sided mirror inside is clear, in excellent condition. All
hinges and clasps working and in fine order. The rouge well is full of deep pink rouge - no puff. The powder well
cover is engine turned and signed LaMode. It is beautiful. The powder well contains ivory powder and has an unsigned puff.
The base yellow enamel is in good condition with very minimal wear and
has retained its high gloss. There is one chip of enamel loss directly above the hinge. It is well placed and does not call
attention to itself. It can be clearly seen at 12 o'clock in the last photo. Some tiny dots visible with magnification.
The short bar chain is 2 ¼" long with all links present and secure.
The bars have a raised diagonal design.
The lipstick case has one pinhead of enamel loss and two tiny dimples.
Please note that the lipstick is difficult to get in and out of the holder, but it can be done. The lipstick itself is stuck
in it's present position and will not budge.
No repairs or issues except for the one small chip. This compact is,
overall, in very fine condition with only minor surface scratches on the front. All parts are present.
