Beautiful figural Italian 800 silver vermeil enamel ladies
powder compact with two lovers out strolling in a garden. The lady is holding a basket of freshly picked green vegetables or
flowers, and the gentleman is holding a long walking stick. They have obviously returned from a walk. Tall greenery and
a building in the background. This lovers scene is framed by faux malachite insets and ornately scrolled silver.
The ornate engraved scrolled silver back is in near mint condition
with no visible scratching. Clasp and hinge in excellent working condition.
Inside, the powder and puff are long gone, but the original
sifter remains. The beveled mirror shows areas of very slight clouding, the only thing attesting to the age of this compact.
This beauty was well taken care of and the case is in nearly mint
condition. On the outside, leaning the compact into the light, there is not one surface scratch!
A lovely, near mint, collectible antique Italian compact.
