ANTIQUE PURSES are highly collectible, but Antique Beaded Purses seem to be the overall favorite among purse collectors. Beads have been traded (used as money) and loved from earliest times. What better way to memorialize beads than to make them into an exquisite purse!! For purse collectors, the smaller the bead, the more valuable the purse.
Antique beaded purses were made by hand......often at night, by poor lighting. Several different methods were employed to create these lovely bags, including knitted, crocheted, & loomed. All methods are time consuming labors of love. As with the petit point purses, beaded bags with the tiniest of beads (micro beads), and a different scene on either side, seem to be the most coveted.
