Collectible
small antique wild bear pin made of syroco wood with textured body.
Syroco
wood is a form of molded wood developed by Adolph Hostein of the Syracuse Ornamental Company that was developed in the 1890's.
The material is a combination of wood and casting compounds which were then poured into a mold, giving
the finished piece the look of being hand carved.
This an old pin with a
lot of charm, relatively rare and a great collectible.
