VINTAGE COPPER JEWELRY
Copper art jewelry became popular in the 1950's
and remains fairly stable today as collectors have discovered the beauty of many of these pieces. Copper jewelry
in the 1950's had styling that includes free form abstracts & whimsical designs. Often enamel was fired
on the copper for color and texture. Frank Rebajes & Jerry Fels, whose jewelry was known as Renoir of California, are
quite well known. Names to watch for are: Rebajes, Renoir, Matisse, Bolas, Pujol, Ramé, Bell, Whiting & Davis, Sarah
Coventry, Sari, Robert, and many others. Many fine pieces are unsigned. Mexico made fine copper jewelry as well.
